BIG Idea
“God created everything — through his Son, in the power of the Spirit, and for his glory.”
Everything that the Triune God has created was made for his glory. Therefore, all of life has purpose! Whether we eat, or we drink (or whatever we do!), we are to do it, expressly, for the glory of the Father, Son, and Spirit. Although the world will tell you that we have come from nothing and that life’s purpose, ultimately, is to live for ourselves, do not be believe it! That is a sad, depressing, and unfulfilling life. We can be assured and confident that we were made for far more than that way of thinking. We were created for God’s glory!
Weekly Bible Passage and Monthly Memory Verse
Passage: Genesis 1:1-31
Monthly Memory Verse: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)
Prayer (ACTS Method)
These are ways to pray in light of the truth learned this week. Of course, pray for other things as a family!
· Adoration: Praise the Triune God for creating and sustaining all of creation.
· Confession: Confess sins, like pride and doubt, when we live for ourselves and doubt God’s purpose for our lives.
· Thanksgiving: Thank God that we have been given purpose in this life: to live for him and his glory!
· Supplication: Ask God for grace to grow in the knowledge of Christ.
