Drew Byers - Lead Pastor (Beginning April 12)
Drew was called to serve as Lead Pastor at Creekside Fellowship in January 2020 and will begin in that role on Easter Sunday, 2020. Drew is a native of McMinn County, Tennessee, where he and his wife Jessica lived most of their life before coming to serve at Creekside. Drew has served at various churches in East Tennessee since 2010, and most recently served as an Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church, Athens, TN. Drew received a Bachelor’s Degree in Church Music from Bryan College and holds an M.Div. in Biblical and Theological Studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Currently, Drew is pursuing a ThM degree from Southern Seminary which will be completed in December 2020.
Drew is married to Jessica, who is an instrumental help to him in his ministry. Jessica is a school teacher and plans to teach at a local school in Sumner county. Drew and Jessica enjoy hiking and being outside, reading, drinking coffee, and watching the Tennessee Volunteers (which lately has been a sanctifying experience).
Chad Ashman - Associate Pastor - Administration
Chad has been at Creekside Fellowship since it's inception in 2013. He serves as the Administrative Pastor at Creekside Fellowship. He has been living in Sumner County since 1986. He attended WKU where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry. He spent one year on a short term mission trip in Belarus with Cru (previously knows as Campus Crusade for Christ). In 2011 he earned a Master of Christian Studies degree from Union University. He currently works in the healthcare IT industry. He married Amber (Werner) in 2000. They have 4 children: Anna Grace, Leah Faith, Jonah, and Josiah.
Dr. Roger Luther
A Bon Aqua, Tennessee native, Dr. Luther earned degrees from Austin Peay State University, Welch College, Trevecca Nazarene University, and Temple Baptist Seminary. He worked for the Tennessee Department of Correction, and Youth Development for 13 years. During that time he served in various positions including: Counseling Manager, Hostage Negotiator, and Assistant Director of Community Programs. He was pastor of churches in Tennessee and Georgia before being called to First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. During his 18 year ministry there, he helped establish the Counseling Ministry, created the Ventures Ministry for Mature Adults, and served as the Adult Discipleship Pastor. He also worked as an Adjunct Professor in Psychology, Human Services, and Education for Volunteer State Community College, Tennessee State University, and Union University.
Dr. Luther began his pastoral role at Creekside Fellowship in April, 2015. He retired from that role in January 2020 but continues to serve as an Elder. He is married to Lynne Luther, a Lawrenceburg, Tennessee native. Lynne was the State Director of Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee until her retirement. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of Social Work for Austin Peay State University. Dr. Luther has three children and four grandchildren.
David serves as an Elder and as Mission Coordinator. David is from Louisiana. He graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Business Administration degree, and from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. He has served churches in Mississippi and Louisiana and was a church planter in the French West Indies. He was the administrator of the French Language Fellowship in Tours, France, and he taught high school English for eight years. David’s wife, Barbara is a retired R.N. He and Barbara have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren.
