Question #8
Q. What is the law of God stated in the Ten Commandments?
A. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol. You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Honor your father and your mother. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony. You shall not covet.

BIG Idea
“God revealed his moral law to the people of Israel in the Ten Commandments.”
The Lord has revealed something of himself in the Ten Commandments. These laws showcase the holiness of God in display. Each one, whether it be the First Commandment or the 10th Commandment, are reflections of his goodness, righteousness, and perfection. Furthermore, they are intended for our good. Just as parents give us rules to follow in order that we would be safe, so has God provided his holy law that Christians might follow them as a guide and pattern for our life, knowing that he wants the best for us.
Weekly Bible Passage and Monthly Memory Verse
Passage: Exodus 20
Monthly Memory Verse: “It is the LORD your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and by his name you shall swear. You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are around you.” (Deuteronomy 6:13-14)
Prayer (ACTS Method)
These are ways to pray in light of the truth learned this week. Of course, pray for other things as a family!
· Adoration: Praise God for being holy and for revealing himself as such in his law.
· Confession: Confess disobedience when we do not follow God’s law.
· Thanksgiving: Thank God that Christ has obeyed the law perfectly, giving us his spotless righteousness as those who have placed their faith in him.
· Supplication: Ask God for grace to grow in obedience by the Spirit’s power.
